We hope to provide a clean, safe, and energetic facility for local small business owners to thrive, collaborate and expand their operations by meeting their greatest needs and providing the resources they need to be successful on their own terms.

The Mission Behind The Bakehouse
After years running her own non-storefront pastry business, the Batches Bakehouse founder (Hannah) decided that Pittsburgh needed a solution for many unanswered needs of small or nascent artisan food-based businesses. Sure, there are a number of shared commercial kitchens in the area; but none that are catering to the specific needs of the growing community of ambitious bakers, charcutiers, and other small specialty food producers; those that are running side businesses with plans to grow into a fulltime careers and/or have no need for a storefront, but need more space, efficiency and resources than they have at home or in their current rented space.
